Tarron

Tarron

Born in the Alps. Raised on the Autobahn. Designed originally to move snow from Europe’s alpine areas, the Tarron is renowned for superior snow-clearing performance. This heavy-duty sectional plow features independently adjusting blade sections that allow the plow to remain in contact with uneven surfaces.

Features

  • Adjustable Attack Angle

A tapered blade design combined with the operator’s ability to adjust the plow’s attack angle, effortlessly clears incredible amounts of snow at high speeds.

  • Adapts to surface

Each section of the blade moves up and down independently, adapting to uneven road conditions for a clear push across the entire width, while confining tripping action to one area of the plow.
  • Steel Cutting Edge with shock absorber

Reduced wear and tear on the plow, vehicle and driver is achieved with polymer dampener that acts as a buffer between the steel cutting edge and the blade, promoting quieter, smoother operation.

Constant contact means better clearing

The Tarron’s standard mounting system is a universal mounting plate, i.e., DIN plate. This makes attaching and detaching the plow faster and easier. When on the ground, the plow will oscillate with the surface, maintaining constant contact and better clearing. In transport mode, the plow provides greater ground clearance by remaining level, even when turned to the right or left.

Down pressure adjustability

In addition to the adjustable attack angle, another smart and effective design feature allows the wheels (or plow shoes) to take weight and pressure off the cutting edge, prolonging cutting edge life and reducing wear and tear on the surface being plowed. The Tarron thinks of everything.

2nd Cutting edge at the push of a button

The Tarron's primary cutting edge can be assisted by a second slush cutting edge as necessitated by road conditions. At the driver's discretion, the second edge drops behind the front cutting edge, doubling the plow's scraping capacity.

Snow-roll deflector

Deflectors are almost an afterthought to most plow manufacturers, but not at Schmidt. The MS’s deflector not only provides the driver with better visibility, it also is designed to optimize the snow rolling and discharge of the snow from the plow.

Optional containment plow configuration

MS plows with lower blade heights can be fitted with hydraulically controlled containment wings when snow cannot be ejected. Each side can be controlled separately or simultaneously.

Optional folding outer blades

The MS 72.1 and MS 80.1 are available with folding outer section that fold back when necessary. This increases the maneuverability of these plow systems while providing clearing width flexibility.

Tarron MS

Tarron MS

The MS series was developed specifically for the unique needs of airside snow clearance. A close relative of Schmidt's renowned Tarron plow, this heavy-duty sectional plow features independently adjusting blade sections that allow the plow to remain in contact with uneven surfaces and ranges in size from just over 15 feet to 26 feet.

Features

  • Superior Snow Clearing

The MS is designed to clear incredibly well at speeds of up to 45 MPH, yet even at lower speeds, the tapered blade design combined with an optimal 45-degree attack angle throws snow farther than competitive plows.

  • Adapts to Surface

Each section of the blade moves up and down independently, adapting to uneven surface conditions for a clear push across the entire width, while confining tripping action to one area of the plow.

  • Vulkollan™ Cutting Edge

This polyurethane material offers outstanding wear-resistance and firmly cuts into hard-packed snow. Reduced wear and tear on the plow, vehicle and driver is also a bi-products of this high-tech polymer.

Tarron MS

  • Patented 3-arm lifting device keeps weight balanced.
  • Mounting plate is height adjustable.
  • Polymer bumpers and poly-lined bushings absorb shock and reduce noise.
  • The polymer steering arms absorb shocks and reduce noise.

Constant contact means better clearing

The Tarron MS can be equipped with a quick change mounting system which makes attaching and detaching the plow faster and easier. When on the ground, the plow will oscillate with the surface, maintaining constant contact and better clearing. In transport mode, the plow provides greater ground clearance by remaining level, even when turned to the right or left.

Down pressure adjustability

Another smart design feature allows the wheels to take weight and pressure off the cutting edge, prolonging cutting edge life and reducing wear and tear on the surface being plowed.

2nd Cutting edge at the push of a button

The MS’s primary cutting edge can be assisted by a finer second cutting edge to create a cleaner surface which will reduce the need for de-icing agents.
